Reef Dive, Mgarr Ix Xini, Gozo
Mgarr Ix Xini is located on the south side of Gozo. Mgarr Ix Xini is a very shallow dive site which means nice long dives to explore the marine life and the reef. A few minutes into the dive as you follow the reef, you will come across one of the caverns.
Take your time to explore this part of the dive. Have a look around for nudibranch in the reef, a torch may come in handy. Continuing on the reef you will find the second cavern, this one is not as large as the first, but worth a look. On the sandy bottom the marine life can be quite active with octopus, flying gurnards and if you are lucky, even seahorses.
Experience Needed
You must be certified to dive to a depth of 18 meters to dive this site, as such we would require a minimum of Open Water Diver certification. We would also recommend Nitrox Diver.
