Staff Instructor

Team Interview
What made you start diving?
I did my Open Water back in 2008 in Cyprus. It seems a long time ago now. I don’t remember anything about the dive sites, just that feeling of flying underwater. It was surreal. Like most divers I got addicted. I found a local dive centre where I lived in the UK and never stopped diving. It became part of my life and the dive community is a great one to be part of.
What do you like about Malta?
I love the sunshine, the food, the people, the fact you are always so close to the sea wherever you are on the island, and the variety of diving. I fell in love with Malta on my first visit. There is so much to do here all year round, with the history and beautiful scenery.
What are your favourite dive sites here in Malta?
I love diving at Cirkewwa, it's a great dive site both above and below the water. Lots to explore. I love that you can enjoy different dives along the reef wall, or the option to head deeper to explore the 2 wrecks here at 30m. It’s easy to see after a dive here why this site is so popular. I’m still finding new swim throughs even after all this time.
What are your strengths as a scuba instructor?
I think my patience and empathy, I still remember what it's like to be a student and the nerves that can come along with it. I'm passionate about what I do and hopefully that comes across to my students.
What do you like to do on your days off?
Nice long walks to explore and sightseeing, I'm still finding new parts of the island to visit. During the summer, I love snorkelling on my day off. Over winter when the weather is cooler, I enjoy rock climbing (which I am very much a beginner) and running. I recently trained for my first marathon which I did here in Malta, running from Mdina to Sliema via Valetta. I'm also studying part time for a degree in Environmental Science, which links nicely with my passion for keeping our ocean healthy.
