Did you know you can start your PADI Open Water course at home and finish the open water dives with ourselves? This is perfect for those who are here in Malta for just a few days, or want to make the most of the time here in Malta.
The PADI Open Water course is the world's most popular and widely recognized scuba course. Millions of people have learned to scuba dive and fell in love with our seas.
To enroll in the PADI Open Water Diver Referral course (or Junior Open Water Diver course), you must be 10 years old or older. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with scuba diving is required.
With the PADI Open Water Referral, you start the course back home and complete before arriving in Malta:
Knowledge Development (Online Theory)
5 Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills
Once you have completed your training dives with your local PADI Dive Centre they will issue your Referral Document. All we need is a copy of this form, your eLearning record and a completed medical form and we can get started on your course.
Please note - your eLearning code includes a pre-paid PADI certification fee. If you have used a paper manual instead of eLearning for your theory, there will be an additional €30 charge per person, which covers the PADI certification fee.
What will I do?
The PADI Open Water Diver Referral course consists of 4 Open Water Dives to use your skills and explore!
Before any in-water, you will complete a pre-dive medical form at our centre. Please check the Medical Form to see if you are fit to dive.
The PADI Enriched Air Diver course is PADI's most popular specialty diving course, and it's easy to see why. Scuba diving with enriched air nitrox gives you more no decompression dive time. This means more time underwater, and you can get back into the water sooner, which is why so many divers choose this as their very first specialty. You can complete your Enriched Air Diver course at the same time as your Open Water Referral, and dive on nitrox free of charge for your final qualifying dive.
Once you have completed the remaining elements of your course with us, you will receive your PADI Open Water certificate, allowing you to continue your underwater adventures.
