Reef Dive, Mgarr ix-Xini, Gozo
Mgarr ix-Xini is located on the south side of Gozo. It is a very shallow dive site, allowing for long, relaxed dives to explore the marine life and the reef. A few minutes into the dive, as you follow the reef, you will come across the first of two caverns.
Take your time to explore this part of the dive and look out for nudibranchs on the reef (a torch may come in handy). Continuing along the reef you can find the second, smaller cavern, which is also well worth exploring. On the sandy bottom, the marine life can be quite active, with octopuses, flying gurnards, and if you are lucky, even seahorses.
Experience needed
You must be certified to dive to a depth of 12 metres to dive this site. We would require a minimum of Scuba Diver certification.
