The Fun Part

Finding your way is not a matter of luck! When everyone's excited about a reef or looking at a shipwreck and having a great time, it's time to leave - and they turn to you. As a Navigator, you know the way back to the boat.

What do I need to start?

• Minimum PADI Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent from another organisation)
• Minimum age: 10 years old
• Medically fit to dive

What will I do?

Underwater navigation can be challenging, but you will master the compass work and it will all come naturally. You learn the tools of the trade, including navigation via natural surroundings and by compass. After the course, you will be more aware of your diving surroundings and take note of more objects that stand out for natural navigation.

You will learn:

• Navigation patterns
• Natural navigation
• Compass navigation
• How to "mark" or relocate a submerged object or position from the surface
• Underwater map making
• How to estimate distance underwater

How long will it take?

Three dives over two days.

• 3 guided open water dives
