As part of our commitment to reducing single-use plastic waste, we're proud to announce part two of our plastic-free campaign: free reusable water bottles for our divers!
These bottles are free to use and keep for all divers, excluding those on Discover Scuba Dives and 2-dive packages. Temporary bottles are also offered to everyone, which can be used throughout the dive day before being returned and cleaned, meaning that we can 100% eliminate the need for single-use plastic bottles for everyone diving at New Dimension Scuba. Simply book diving with us and you will be provided with one of our bottles at the beginning of your first diving day.
For non-divers, or anyone who wants to buy more, extra bottles can also be purchased for a competitively-priced €15.
Our reverse osmosis filtered water cooler
Last year we installed a reverse osmosis machine at the dive centre. This not only helps filter the drinking water further, but also improves the taste. We took this one stage further by also installing a water cooler, so now not only do our divers have clean, safe tap water to drink, it's even chilled. Perfect for those hot dive days.
The next step: re-usable bottles for our divers to use and keep
We always encourage our divers to bring their own bottles to refill here, but sometimes that's just not convenient, or possible. So we've taken things one step further, and now provide our own reusable water bottles for our divers when they come diving with us in Malta. With a stylish design and a large 630ml capacity, the bottles are made from recycled stainless steel, and not only that; they are thermally-insulated, meaning that they keep the water cold all day, even in the summer heat, supplying fresh and cool hydration between and after dives.
Keeping hydrated on diving day is a key factor in reducing the risk of decompression sickness, so we encourage all divers to make full use of our bottles and water cooler.
Temporary bottles
For divers on Discover Scuba Dives or 2-dive packages, we have a number of bottles allocated to the dive centre, which can be used for the day, and then returned to us and cleaned for next time. Of course, it also wouldn't be truly environmentally-friendly to force products on to people who don't want to keep them, so any divers who don't have space in their luggage, or already have plenty of water bottles at home, can also choose to use one of our centre's temporary bottles for the day and then return it to us at the end of their stay.
