Malta's first Eco Dive Centre | St Paul's Bay

Free Drinking Water at New Dimension Scuba Malta

We are proud to now offer free, cold drinking water at New Dimension Scuba - one step closer to eliminating single-use plastic bottles at the dive centre.

Why hydration matters for divers

Every diver knows how important it is to stay hydrated before a dive, and in a hot country such as Malta, this is even more important. Keeping hydrated on diving day is a key factor in reducing the risk of decompression sickness, so we encourage all divers to help themselves to our water.

The problem with bottled water

As an eco dive centre, we always struggled with divers needing to buy bottled water for the day. In fact, in the past we have even been guilty of advising divers to buy bottled water to take with them, as we didn't have a suitable alternative. We unfortunately didn't have drinking water at the dive centre, and the tap water in Malta (although safe to drink) does have a strong taste to it, making it unpleasant.

Our solution: reverse osmosis filtered water

We have recently installed a reverse osmosis machine at the dive centre. This not only helps filter the drinking water further, but also improves the taste. We took this one stage further by also installing a water cooler, so now not only do our divers have clean, safe tap water to drink, it's even chilled. Perfect for those hot dive days.

Bring your refillable bottle

If you are diving with us, bring along your refillable water bottle (insulated is even better!) and help yourself to free drinking water. Fill up before heading to the dive site and let's eliminate the need for single-use plastic water bottles together.

Save money and help the environment: let's dive into a greener future.
